I have a 99 RK with only about 11.2K on the clock that's still pretty much stock. I've taken the cam chest down and see that the original ball bearing is still in the rear cam. Figure if I'm gonna change bearings (inner and outer) I might just as well throw in a set of cams and wake her up a bit. Pretty much decided  on TW26's. Initially I'd been thinking of going with the 07 and up cam plate, pump and tensoners but I just can't swing the ching at this time and besides, everything looks pretty good in there. My question is this: would it be ok to leave the stock A lifters in there or is there really any advantage to going with the B lifters? Have read many of the threads on this subject but I'm still not sure so your advice would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I plan on keeping this bike for the forseeable future. Thanks, Bill

I understand tight "ching". In this case I would spend the "ching" for the lifters. Get your stuff from one of the online dealers that gives discounts or wherever you can save a buck and apply the savings to the lifters ... it just makes good sense as long as you are in there and changing cams.

If a roller happens to seize it isn't pretty. The oil pump is just waiting to pick up the debris. "B" lifters are what you want. Stay away from the SE/Jims. $5 grand later, I can speak with some degree of authority.  :embarrassed:LOL.

I agree to stay away from the SE liters. Cost me $1200.00 to find out that little tid bit of info..............
