it it was me I would do the 660 sm with the compression you will have

Put in a set of SnS roller rockers while you have it apart.

I'm running Woods 408-6 cams in my 120R and like them.

It wouldn't be a horrible idea to do valve springs.  Mondello racing has av&v on sale right now.  I would strongly recommend 110 valve seals.  My vote would be the 662-1

While I really like the performance of the fulsac head pipe you may be better served with a V&H power dual with the slightly bigger collector setup on this cubic inch motor. I really feel the head gasket change is not necessary if you choose the cam correctly. I would still swap out the springs, seals and retainers to the 650 AV&V setup. Very easily done if you pull the heads for the gasket change.

BVBOB is right on target.

Our 621 would be a great bolt, as well others.  If the head is say gaining flow up to 625 lift and then only gains 1-3 cfm in the next .025 + its not going to gain you anything to rear tire. As well no need for roller rockers with the 621 cam either. just a thought..

The 660 SM cam is similar  to the 621.

246/248 660 SM vs 247/254  621

It has worked very well in the 120's engines. Customer's love the  power and no valve train noise. I would say the 660 or  662-1 split the difference between the two and you have our 621    I think any of those would be a great choice .

No love for the Crane 296 (Edelbrock 1735)?

Sure that would be another great cam . We all know that there are many cams out there that will work very well.

You have guys that tend to stick to one brand as they feel its the best. At some point they will either be passed over or open there eyes and figure out that there is more than just one flavor of ice cream out there.  A cam is not a personal thing but some how some guys turn it into that     

I recall one shop that would say woods was the best every post.. now its all about S&S .. that's the best cam now.. well in a year I am sure it will be the next brand..      I say we all leave the bikes 100% stock ..    we can talk about the best warranty claim that way

I understand where you are coming from Steve, but we do tend to tinker! I am sure the original 266e is reasonable too. Maybe a touch more compression or possibly a 4 degree advance .

All the gain you are looking for are cancelled by the earlier exhaust open.

but on a crate motor it isn't that bad .

on the 10.3 crate motor ,advancing it 4 deg  felt better on the street.
swapped 1 hp for 1 tq on the dyno . sheets just about laid on top of each other .
guys still riding it like that.

on my 12.2 compression motor advancing it 4 deg .it lost a little hp and was a bitch to get timing right .
it ran the same ET on the track though. this was before I ran E 85 .

Got the PV. Just need a base map once we have the cam and exhaust issue sorted. I will probably get it moving with Fullsac, then swap it out when the stock market lifts. Watch this space.

Loki! I get that some of our shared thoughts are akin to endless loop, I am Always thankful, with out fear nor favour,. Knowledge is best shared. It is not exclusive.

I dunno,, we have installed 15+ 120R's and have had no real problems,, the highest mile one we have out there is a little over 40K...

Well of course he did because that's the biggest exhaust he makes and pretty much only one for 96" up.  But it will work, just might do better with a bigger tube header and "Over exhaust".

Ive done 6 120s ..not a lot but we used the Wagner Pipes on them all...2 in 1 and 2 in 2 ...all work Fantastic... not a cheap pipe...but they do work

best I can see its good for about 128 hp
will be seeing in the next few days. got a 113 that should go over 130 hp.

Motor arrives tomorrow. Decision time. It will all come together. Whilst a 120r is not a LC 124 or a HC 124, I am sure we can make it cruise well and haul arse (ass)!
My understanding is the 124 LC has a 585 cam. How does that rate in a 120r?

With a touch more compression the 585 would do OK in the 120r.

The timing on the 585 is going to create some issue however you are running a very small pipe for a engine of that size. So at this point who knows what it will produce.

New pipe ordered Steve. VH power duals. Recommended !

I am running the T-Man 662-2 's in My 120" at 10:9.1 with a Supertrapp 2into1 with pretty good results 136HP/139TQ.

talk to Ron (Rbabos)  he ran the 585's in his 120r,   I am running the 662-2 at 10.8 and wouldn't changed them out for nothing else.
