Rented a bike in Vegas this past weekend, headed south to Sedona with group and hit some terrific twisties on AZ 89A.  Noticed the Streat Guide I had rented really didn't want to hold the line in the curves.  Another one of the crew who rented a Street Guide said something about needing to sit the bike front in lower going into a turn.  I assume he meant possibly lowering the front end by using the front brake initially but not certain.  Any advise out there???

Back end too low or bad tires would be my guess. My 04 couldn't get around a corner till I changed the tires. Tread was fine on them.
If it has air shocks he could try pumping them up to raise the rear.
Counter steering helps.

But what do I know? I drive a party bus.

Another thing is how warn are the tires?

I know with my 2010 when the rear tire get worn out, (and around here with no curves it gets worn flat across), it takes some effort to toss the bike into a corner. Image trying to lean a asphalt roller into a corner! Put on some new rubber with a round profile and the bike just falls into the corner with no effort at all.
I am an adult?? When did that happen, and how do I make it stop?!

The bike will make the turn. Just push on the bars a little harder.

Rental co's dont have a pre-ride checklist before the bike rolls out?

Yeah....Guy looks at the tires and sees their not flat.  Check! Next!

   I've rented from both HD dealers and Eagle Rider. The bikes from the dealers were always decent, good tires, clean, etc. Eagle Rider, not so much......

My '09 Ultra was an HD rental I bought from Chandler HD in AZ when I was living there. They sold it as it was last years bike, and had a whopping 6,000 miles on it I've rented bikes from Eagle Rider than had over 40,000 miles, and showed it.

Eagle Rider send me a list of off rental bikes for sales every year... high miles,, tough shape,, and crazy expensive.. we have to buy new bikes every year for our rental program and follow a pretty rigorous maintenance schedule.

Thanks for the input, the bike was from the HD shop, tires looks ok but I felt a little loseness in some of the curves, had 17k miles and not sure if they had been replaced or not.   Probably just needed to get use to a different bike more.  All in all had a great ride.  Again for those wanting a super ride, AZ 89a from Sedona to Jerome had some tremendous twisties.
