Progressive treats me very well.
Californication doesn't help your situation.
Nice state to visit.

I've been lucky enough to have only gotten two speeding tickets since 1996. I have taken the driving school to keep it off my record so the ins co doesn't find out about it. The most recent ticket (This year) I took the on-line course. It raises the cost of the ticket by $52 and the class cost $26. The last ticket before this one was 18 years ago. I guess I was due.......

Going to fast for traffic school eh...  :chop:

might as well butter up cause you're screwed.  if your insurance has the info everyone does. depending on how long you had coverage with your current carrier (5+ Years) they might actually be giving you a deal compared to a new company.

Any new policy will result in the company looking at your driving record. I wouldn't expect a great deal of savings over what you have to pay now.

bullshizz, someone will, I called my insurance company out. they reneged. no increase. if you have paid for years and get one ticket, how does that justify an increase? (don't even try to convince me)...if they wont 'work' with you, as I said, someone will and they love money more than your current one. paying your bills on time is loyalty, if the company, insurance, cable, bank, whatever doesn't reciprocate with same loyalty, then there are others who will gladly take your money and treat you right. that is all there is to it.  :pop:

Best rate I've found is Safeco and no increase after a speeding ticket.  But I'm not in California.

I have not had  a ticket on my motorcycle ever, but I pay $986.00 Cdn currently for full coverage with 44 yrs riding. When I purchased my 01 Dyna, the first year was $1315., because I hadn't ridden in 5 yrs. It dropped every year until to $746, then 2 yrs ago a Cdn bank purchased all the policies and promptly raised them to current rates. Can you say bend over!!!
I wouldn't be complaining too loud at $289, but I'd fight the unjust raise in rates for 1 ticket!

+1 for Safeco insurance.  Switched to them this year and cut my monthly payments in half

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

All ins co's are pretty much criminal scum.Everyone should shop at every renewal. The best one is the cheapest one.If there are any slightly better ones,it would be co's where you deal with the principal co , not some stupid, uninformed, parisitic agent who inspite of their lack of knowledge will add one more cost layer to your already inflated bill.
   Good luck.

found out some interesting info....I did the driving school on line for the ticket because the court "said'' no point on license AND no insurance increase ( confidential ticket)....BUT what they failed to mention is that if you have a commercial license ( even if offense in private vehicle) they still fink you off to the insurance co.    Got that info by calling CA. DMV...

Oops.... Yeah, they're really tough on CDL's. Very little wiggle room.

In the last 32 years I have only had two instances where I should have pulled over for the PoPo but instead let it rip and took off.    The BS you go thru with insurance, fines and such sucks.   I just let it rip and they were gone.
If you have to stop and think about if it is right or wrong, Assume it is wrong.

ThumperDeuce

I found out once that I had to produce a court report of my driving record to apply for a driving job.  A previous ticket which I was told was not going to be on my record due to taking probation was actually still there at that level of reporting.
Idiots are fun, no wonder every village wants one.

With my luck I would be 6' under trying that.
