My wife has a 2005 Softail Deluxe and wants to hook up her spot lights so that they stay on with the high beams. I have allready done this to my Eglide using the wiring diagram I found here . I was wondering if someone had did this on a deluxe and could tell me what wires I need to change?

I made the same mod on my Road King, you won't regret it.  You will still be able to turn the spots on and off with the accessory switch, it just gives you the option of running them with the low or high beam on.  As you know, stock setup turns the spots off when you turn on the high beams.

If you do that correctly (like in the diagram) you'll still be able to turn your spots on and off with the spot switch and your accessories on and off with the accessory switch, and neither switch will affect the other's action.  You will lose load capability through the accessory fuse by as much as your spots draw, at least if that diagram is complete in terms of what's downstream of the accessory fuse.

OK , good answers for everyone else but what about my original question. How do I go about wiring them for the Deluxe

I perused my way right here in this site to the wiring diagram for the '05 Softails.  Attached is a modified image.  Lift the wire from the low-beam feed and attach it to the running lamp feed as shown.  Whenever the front running lamps are lit she'll be able to switch her passing lamps on or off at will.

Thanks Glens, The wiring diagram with your mod. is just what I needed

You're welcome.

Just some thoughts:  I'm assuming the BE wire I pointed out up there is capable of carrying the current.  It comes "direct" from the fuse panel behind a 15A fuse, so I'd assume it'd be able to carry 15A...  If it's a smaller conductor than the headlamp wire you're disconnecting the passing lamp feed from, you might be better off finding the other BE wire shown below.  It feeds the Hi/Lo beam selector switch and comes off the fuse panel behind a different 15A fuse.

On the one hand, I'd think they'd use the same wire stock for both runs (why handle two sizes of wire having the same color jacket?) but then again, depending on their routing, they could be different (would have to be if they're within the same bundle anywhere?).

Another reason, maybe, to use the headlight switch feed (and it might not be readily accessible anyway) would be in the event some electrical damage occurred to the running lights anywhere on the bike the spots wouldn't get taken out too.

Conversely, feeding them from the headlight leaves the possibility of losing all forward lighting at once  because one fuse went out.

Hope this helps, hahaha!
