Is it possible to convert a gas tank that was made for a carb to a tank for EFI?

Thanks
Thanks,

No for a touring tank if 2002 and earlier. You would have more in it than if you just sourced an efi tank. 2003 up 5 gal tanks (touring) are the same for carb or efi. They are efi tanks without the pump etc. Just need the internals.

Yes. Definitely yes. The FXR crowd has been doing this for a few years for TC conversions. Requires a bit of cutting, shaping and welding. Has been done many, many times.

Anything can be converted.  It's just a question of how much money one cares to throw at it.

Lots of tanks for sale on E-Bay.  Depending on which one you need, most for under $500 some as low as 100-150.  Of course that is without the guts so that would have to be priced out too (anyone got a ball park figure on the guts?  Just curious.).  Then there's having it painted to match the rest of the bike.

Agreed. I decided to just buy the proper tank for the bike and not mess around. Thanks for the input...
