General Section changes

As you guys have seen the General section lately has to put it mildly turned in to a pool of BS Posts .... Political Rants....Topics far from Tech and Anything even close to HD related ...Yes we know its coming up to winter...and the riding season is over in some places and close to done in others.....so if history shows us anything ...its that it will only get worse ... this weekend will mark the 1st anniversary of the new HTT .. and its 8000 Members ..as managers we have a not so easy job at times and this section of the site is becoming the hardest to keep running smooth ...the old MSN site had a General section by default and it could not be removed or re named .. Fortunately we now own the whole site and its content and even the server time ...we do not want to remove the General section ( unless we have to ) but the direction of it has to change ..in the past few months we have been far more easy on what topics are allowed and posted in the General area then in past years ...We still do not want to make it a totally HD Tech only section.. BUT ...we are going to tighten up on non Tech posts .... Political Topics and thread directions will be removed .....Postings of typical spam posts like we all receive every day in our E Mail in Boxes will be removed ... Posts that are nothing more then someone wanting to see their name on the internet and are completely useless will be removed... as before flaming other members will get a post removed or at least partly edited .... I'm leaving the policing of the General section up to the discretion of the Managers and if you have a post removed do not expect a reason to be posted or a warning that its going to be removed posted ...
Its a long winter lets try to enjoy HTT for what it is... A TECH SITE
