Seems pretty well dialed in, altho I'll wait til after 500 mile great in to check the plugs. I'm running a 165 main on the mikuni, and everything seems to respond well.

Gotta go back and trash these garbage maddog lifters and pushrods for decent harley units. The Maddog units are garbage-lifters won't even pump up, and are noisier than freakin solids. Absolute crap-what a huge waste of my time and $. Last time I ever buy anything from a florida eBayer.

I could have told you about that junk ahead of time, at least you fixed it I hope.

I was looking at buying those Maddog lifters/pushrods but after your comments I'll stick with SE parts.

i have two sets. One is going under the sledgehammer....

Actually, they did pump up after a little over 24 hours. The rods had the standard oversized rub marks all over them. Junk mistake that cost me a LOT of $. I know better....

(edited to get rid of smart ass remarks)

Does 'Wofong' mean Chinese garbage? If so, two thumbs up...

On the Dyna 2000 on the micro switches, the UP position is on, correct? Seems like the tiny type on the box says so, but I can't find my magnifying glass...

BTW-found a way around having to pull the module off to adjust things-cut a hole out of the mounting plate with a dremel and a cutting wheel, then use a stone to smooth out the edges. Bingo-adjusting window for the LEDs and micro switches!

Xanadu

I have the Dyna 2000 ignition module that mounts under the seat on my 93 fatboy.  I also have the dyna single fire coil as well.  Had the coil go bad shortly after I got the setup, Dyna sent me a new coil and it has been fine since then.  I have had the ignition module for at least 10 years now.  and have done a lot of motor work since then and used many of the different settings on that module.  It has been a great part for me.  I have heard so many failure of the crane Hi-4 module on this site.  I am not sure if the perceived high failure rate is due to the popularity of the crane product as opposed to the Dyna module.  So I cant get a good read on the failure rate of the Dyna part.  Losing an ignition module or coil in the middle of nowhere is nothing to desire!

I would guess it's the huge # of Hi-4 units in use, Xanadu. I had 2, and never had a problem. I do think Buddy's theory of using a module and a stock pickup to keep the electronics away from roasting heat is a pretty sound idea...especially since I have had (as previously stated) an HD nosecone pickup melt. I'd rather toast a $30-$40 part than a $200 one. ;)

I have a 99 Softail Custom (last evo).Has Branch stage 4 heads with matching 10:5 to 1 pistons, Andrews EV-59 cam (570 lift, 255 duration, Mikuni 42 carb, V&H Big radius pipes...have the Dyna pak 2000 on it, and have never had any problems of any kind.

Beave

On a road trip back in August of 2000 I had a Hi-4 expire on my 86 Evo on a Sunday morning at the Beaver City Inconvenience store in Beaver City Nebraska.  Before I said anything the locals had noticed my dilemma and called in the resident motorcycle mechanic who towed me the two blocks to his shop. There we installed the old twin plus ignition that I had replaced, but brought along as a spare.  He helped me with the installation, opened the auto parts store to get me some plugs, shared his best beer, and escorted us thirty miles down the road to make sure we were OK.  So while I have experienced a failure with the Crane unit, it was a very pleasant experience!

Hey I use mostly Power-arc ignitions in my shop. Try the new IDS single fire  with a 80,000 volt coil made by power arc. I have them in many stock evos also many S&S motors. I use on in my old 93 cu.in. S&S my 107 and just fired up my new 124 S&S with one. Use a VOES switch. Datona twin tech is good but this is the real deal. Under $400. and you get what you pay for. Call 1-515-9647608 ask for Gary and tell him some guy from the swamps sent you and he wil program one for you or www.powerarc.com. I have found this one to bring out the power you already have.  This can also be used in Shovels and Sportsters. Good luck
