If I use my stock rear wheel 3/4 axle have to drill out hub for a larger spacer to use a 1inch axle. I think the hub will to thin. I am going to a later model swing arm.  :banghead:

I have used a 1-9/32" drill to make the 3/4" to 1".  It was a 9 spoke wheel and there was no break out.

You can use your stock rear wheel. You can the 1" center space and new 1" bearings.
I'm in the process of taking a 07 streetglide wheel with 1" bearings to use on my 01 roadking with 3/4 axel. Im using the 3/4" spacer from my old wheel with new 3/4" bearings.  There's no reason that I know of why you couldn't go the other way. Just have to buy the center spacer and new 1" bearings.

A 1" spacer is too large in diameter to fit into a wheel that was originally machined for a 3/4" axle.

You can bore out the 3/4" spacer to accept the 1" axle, but it produces a very thin wall spacer that may collapse a small amount.

Bore out the hub and use the proper spacer.  Not that hard to do.

Thanks for feed back, I measured the 2000 wheels O.D. spindle the wall will be very thin [ center part of the wheel] I think the spindle will be weak there. Pull of the pulley or brake caliper you will see what I am talking about. You are taking a bunch of meat out of center of wheel. I know some of guys have done this I would keep an eye on your wheel for cracks. I don't think the early models and late models wheel used same castings.

That's an 06 road king custom rim on a 01 electra glide. No drilling. Just a simple $50 wheel spaced kit from the MoCo.

How do you think I was able to bore out the hub?  It takes a 1.5" drill to break through the wall of wheel hub.  All the compression is taken up by the spacer compressed against the bearings.  I have drilled hubs all the way out and pressed in a steel sleeve.  The bore of the hub is sized to help keep the spacer in alignment to make installing the axle easier.
