Thanks.  I'm only familiar with doing manuals.

Good pictures Billy. Going to vent the A/C outside the TB?

Great looking place you have.  on the bloody mary.

If he wants to, haven't talked about that yet.

Thanks, it's our retreat on Lake Gaston. Will probably retire there when the wife is ready.

He's going to 107 inch, so I assume he may be heading to 10.5:1 compression. Those cam specs would be right at home there. I ran an Andrews 55 in my 107 @ 10.47:1, was right at home, pulled really well from about 2,000 on up, had 185 CCP. Specs below.

open/close          lift          duration     overlap   lobe center     TDC lift
intake:      22/46      -     0.550     -     248     -     42     -     102     -     0.197
exhaust:    52/20      -     0.550     -     252     -     42     -     106     -     0.181

Still kicking this cam around (the 577), but whatever we choose, the compression will be set up for it.

Billy, first of all we're all coming down to your place this weekend for a cookout...so fire up your grill.

What is that hole in the squish area of the head?

Come on down Les , we're having a chainsaw party (clearing trees) there this weekend, followed by a huge bonfire and cookout.

AllanW is correct, ACR port.

Pulled the cams out this morning

Checked pinion runout, looks like the bottom end is coming out. About .0084"

Curiousity got the best of me, checked the water jacket volume

About half a jigger

Because I know someone will ask

79.6cc

Looks like the oil drainback was re-located

The next 2 pics show how he used a '13 StreetGlide fender and light bar to make the tourpack detachable. The Limited fender has no provision for turn sigs when the box is removed. So I guess this bike is now an Ultra Street Limited.   :emoGroan:

Damn, .0084. Didn't expect that. Have you checked the sprocket shaft?

How's the angle on that dial guage? Hard to tell in the pic.

Cool beans.

Question- the burette had exactly the amount of fluid left in it that the chamber volume took up? What are the odds of that happening?

I didn't either. I thought the they were doing better with'em. I'll probably pull the case out tomorrow, I'll check the sprocket side then. I'm done for today.

I think you're reading it wrong. The burette reads direct, when there's 100cc in it, it reads "0", as it empties it tells how much fluid is missing, or is now in the chamber. Look again at the graduations.

A couple of other notes;

-FSG's Singh groove is .117" deep, holds about .5cc

-Head gasket thickness .052"

Last word indicator, directly over center of shaft.

Good eye. Norfolk Assembly Plant, 1st shift, final area, maintenance crew, taken not too long before it was closed. Great crew.

Well today started off finding myself needing a new tool. Not sure when the comp bolt head changed from 13/16th to T70 Torx. After chasing down the Snap-On man, I was back in business.

Setting up to check sprocket shaft run out

Low side, zero indicator

High side, about .0093"

Flywheels out and shipped along with heads and cylinders

TR's gonna put the wheels on the truing stand to see if the sprocket shaft is bent or slipped. Now that the cases are split, no tellin where this build may go.

That's been discussed, as well as others.

Does anyone have experience with Delkron Cylinders? The 4.250" specifically?

I knew you would know. I don't recall the manual stating it being a 1 time use bolt, any info there?

I've not seen anything, BUT, the torque is 100 ft-lbs, back off 1/2 turn, then final torque to 175 ft-lbs, and being only $4 a pop I'd be keeping a few spare on the shelf and replace them each rebuild.

Another question. Does the overhaul gasket kit 16500245 come with O-Rings 28004-01, washers 28005-01, FITTING ASSEMBLY 26064-08 w/ 11110, 11290 & 11408? These are for the coolant lines and manifolds.

Thanks
