My friend bought this Limited a few weeks ago, put about 3000 miles on it to make sure he likes it before turning up the heat on the motor. Nothing too crazy, going from 103 to 107, T-Man Pro Touring head and his 577 cams, I think. I pulled the heads and cyls today to get them sent off. I was able to work around the lowers and radiators without removing them. Here's what it looks like.

Draining coolant

Hoses and manifolds

Remove screw from lockplate to seperate manifolds from coolant lines

Manifolds removed

Manual says to remove upper hoses but I just tied them back out of the way

Removed throttle body next. Left coolant lines and motor mount on the heads, they'll come off after the heads are removed

Heads on the bench, I used a 90 degree pick to release the coolant lines

Coolant lines are marked FI,FO,RI,RO

Heads stripped and ready to ship

TR says about a 2 week turn around, CNC program is good on the exhaust ports and chambers, probably have to hand port the intakes.

I got one of his 107 kits coming with the 577 cam as well (for stock) , that should be nice build.

Haven't seen specs on the 577 yet, he says it's like the SM660 but 577 lift. Have you installed one yet?

I'm thinking it has to be like the SM600 unless you're going to bump the CR quite a bit.

Pretty sure he said 660, I don't think he would shrink the 600 only.023". IIRC this 103 comes with 10.2:1, so it shouldn't need too much bump.

Also noticed the exhaust pushrod (bottom) have 4 black stripes on them now, instead of solid black. FWIW

4 stripes, you got 3 extra at no charge.    :teeth:

BVHOG

The last two 13's I built had striped exhaust pushrods

So the head has a new chamber shape and there is a water passage at the head gasket surface.

Yup, the water passage at the gasket surface I'm guessing is for casting purposes, to get the sand out.

Well those numbers confirm it's a shortened up SM660.

Haven't decided on oversize TB or using stock, 1.710 or 1.760 port.

He wants a 2-1 pipe, open for suggestions.

Bike will be used for 1 up touring.

If those specs are correct, I wouldnt put it in a 107 built for a bagger.

Ohio HD

He's going to 107 inch, so I assume he may be heading to 10.5:1 compression. Those cam specs would be right at home there. I ran an Andrews 55 in my 107 @ 10.47:1, was right at home, pulled really well from about 2,000 on up, had 185 CCP. Specs below.

open/close          lift          duration     overlap   lobe center     TDC lift
intake:      22/46      -     0.550     -     248     -     42     -     102     -     0.197
exhaust:    52/20      -     0.550     -     252     -     42     -     106     -     0.181
