Ive been talking about going to my nearest track for awhile now and finally made the trip yesterday to Pittsburgh drag strip in New Alexandria PA . Rode my electra glide down for test and tune night and made 3 passes . First pass was a 12.69 @ 110.38 mph , second pass was a little better 12.45 @ 111 mph . The third pass i hit the rev limiter hard in 3rd gear but still managed 12.49 @ 110.35 mph . I just want to take a minute and thank Jim Kennedy for all his help and guidance in getting me down the track . Youve been more help than you will ever know Jim ! Here are a couple videos from my 1st and 2nd run . Let me know what you guys think

That was great,I was just wondering did you have any wheel spin at the line with the street tires
And by no means am I a track  specialist but I would have thought you would've got on that a little harder out of the Hole ?

Did you lower your rear air pressure at all? Or did you basically run it in street form
Also did you have any Wobble at all at the end of the run?

All in All looked Great from where I am sitting..........  :chop: 💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
2 Bikes and 2 Beemers, that's what I have been told 😳

A lot of guys talk about drag racing their bike from their bar stool or on the Internet, and you actually did it.
Congrats- and you will be surprised with a little more seat time, your times will get quicker and quicker....

Mike , no wheel spin that i could detect . I lowered my pressure down to 26 pounds then to 22 pounds . It launched straight and stayed straight with no wobble what so ever . The second race i launched at 2000 rpm's , i didnt want to beat on it too hard because i rode it to the track 100 miles from home and it had to get me back home ! I never intended to race my electra glide , i have a superglide that i want to race but couldnt find anyone to trailer it down to the track for me . So me and a friend rode the touring bikes down and i ran 3 times . Paul , you are correct and i was tired of being one of those guys that just talks about it so i made up my mind and went to the track . It was one of the best nights of my life ! All the guys on bikes helped me out and gave me some good pointers . I will most definitely be doing this again !

Good for you. It is great feeling to run your street bike on the strip. You will find some of the best friends there sharing the same passion.

I have to fess up...I'm one of those internet racers that has never made it to the strip...unless I was sitting in the stands watching.
My dream has been to get my bike as competitive as I could before going to the strip...but I see it's going to be real tough to do with the likes of Jim stepping his game way up with this Pro Charger deal he is working on and the likes of the #1 plate holder. Low 10's is where the AMRA bagger class is...and soon I bet it will be in the 9's.
But...I'm officially retired from work as of last week...and I can now concentrate on going racing guys! [attach=0]
I won't be close to winning with my set up...but I'll be trying as hard as I can and I will be having some big fun doing it.

Josh...you did a great job for the 1st time at the strip...and I congratulate you!

Great job Josh.
You thank Jim now but wait a little while and see if you still feel that way. You have just been introduced to the best drug on earth and it's addicting.

Congrats Josh! I have twin sons named Jeremy and Joshua that will be 41 in 9 more daZe, so you're already a good guy in my book! LOL. I have the same story as you do, up to the actually racing part. Darn me! Maybe next year.

that's what I told him after his excitement level on the first pass.
his time slips show the bike capable of running into the 11's with just a few more passes. but you know that feeling you have when you ride the bike to the track. if his stomach could have taken three more passes he would have been there.
you are so welcome Josh ,you did Great.

Dang Ray ,,,,,just Dang ,,,,,pipe time ,,,congrats!!!!!

Good job Josh! Better be careful though, when the drag racing bug bites sometimes it bits hard. It'll co$$$$t ya!!

Sure wished I had at least 50% of the money back in my pocket I've spent over the years on this addiction.

Nice bulbs there Josh, .067 and .020, that's very cool, you would be competitive in AMRA with those lights

The times I went with Jim, I saw a bunch of .100 or worse lights on the other side of his time slips, a .020 and run the number will be hard to beat, coming off the bottom bulb.

Thanks Mike , one of the guys at the track with allot of experience told me after i stage to keep my eyes on the third yellow light only . And when it lights up drop the hammer ! It seemed to work pretty well ! I feel pretty good on how consistent i was , just need more speed and by listening to the video i was short shifting into second gear . I should of stayed in 1st gear a bit longer   Thanks Daren

staying in 1 st longer will improve you're 60 ft.
your shifting into 2 nd right before the 60
