A group of us are planning a trip to the H-D museum just wondering if there were any hotels close by.

Tons of 'em! Hyatt, , Hilton, Doubletree, Ramada, Phister, you name it. H-D Museum is SW of the main city downtown, just south of Wis Ave where there are plenty of spots. Stayed at Doubletree last year, simple but clean room, staff was great, walking distance from convention center and Public Museum. they have valet parking, I asked if I could just park the bike it in the corner near the Valet area and hand them the money instead of adding their tip to the room  "Not a problem"

edit: Forgot to mention, the Milwaukee Public Museum is just north of the H-D one, & they have the travelling "Titanic Exhibit" there from last fall. It's over in a few weeks. http://www.mpm.edu/

There is a new hotel just south of the HD museum that is called "The Iron Horse". It was built and designed for bikers that will be visiting the museum.
I have read about it in the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel newspaper.
It sounds real nice. You could walk to the Museum from there. They even have an area for washing your bike.
I'm not sure, but it could be a bit pricey.
