I would not use a right angle stem either. Get a good air chuck, like the one Motion Pro sells and you can get to any of them.

I NEED that.
$alty for a chuck but the credit card points got it "free" off Amazon.

I used the billet type, 83° angled valve stems on my 2012 Limited for about 25K miles before I sold it..

They worked well, and made it super easy to put air in the tires..

I was unaware that style had any problems in the field...  :nix:

I just Googled, and couldn't find the brand that I used (that's not a good sign   :crook:)

The ones I used looked a lot like this one...

I've used this same stem front and rear for over 45K miles no loss of air yet .

In my experience the longer flexible rubber angle stems are a problem.  Centrifugal force can force them out at higher speeds and cause them to contact the brake caliper if they are long enough.  You can guess the rest.  :dgust:

So you are admitting to ding that?

Nope.  See reply #2.  As a side note, he was out front and had just pulled in front of the transport he was passing when it happened.  Damn good thing that truck driver was paying attention.

I  have  a  2012 too, had a  90 degree  installed  on  the  front  but  it's  rubber  and  you  have  to  hold  it to  put  in  air. I  see there  is  one  that  is  solid  so you  can  fill it  easier  I'll  put  it  on  when  I  put  on  new  tire ,guessing  the  shop can  order  it .

I cut the hose/clip on valve off of a cheap bicycle foot pump & mated it to an air line quick connector... works great. Was someone else's idea.

Thanks everybody for your replies. I just ordered a a 90 degree adapter like the one xlfan attached. I'll give it a try. When I get new skins I'll have a short steel valve stem installed. just hate that rubber crap...

These have worked great for me, including some illegal high speed drag racing.
