Is anyone running a V-111 in their bike? How do you like it, what is the mpg you are getting. I'm looking at getting one for my 1984 Softail.

I don't have one but I do have a 113" S&S and a couple 124's. The 111 is a great package being square (bore vs stroke) and the stroke is shorter so it can be a touch smoother. While I was at S&S I built a bunch of these and tested even more of them and they are a very sound platform. You should be a very happy man.

I put one in my '91 FLHTCU when the 80"er expired.  I have about 16K on the new motor, could not be happier.  Plenty of TQ and smooth.  Shorter stroke makes it wind fast.  In stock form with the .585 cam power is good to about 4,800 and then fades off.  I moved up the gearing to a 34T sprocket and it has no issues with the change.  Running 3,200 RPM now at 75 MPH and get a little better than 40 MPH on the longer runs.  It does use a bit more fuel as you might expect, but the trade off it well worth it.

So far, 100% reliable and not even a drip.

I rode today 275 miles on my American Ironhorse.

It has the 111" with a Super G and presumably a S&S 600 cam.
I don't know the jetting, no work done on the engine since it left the factory.

On the way out some hard overtaking hitting 90-100 mph, but mainly cruising 60-75 mph.
That gave 39 mpg. Heading back was much easier riding 55-60 mph and far less and softer overtaking, the consumption was 45 mpg.

To my experience, if I stay at the intermediate jet envelope, the fuel economy is good, +- 45 mpg. If I decide to use the available power reserves, mileage may drop to 35 mpg or even below that. I tend to go too fast (because the 111" can).
