Dark heads and badges might give it away. Dang aluminum valve covers took a beating when I sent them to Florida. Need to buy new ones. Also need to buy one pushrod.

More pics. Waiting on some valve cover hardware, O2 sensors and some little things. I still need to tuck some wiring behind my splash guard and finish the ACR hook up.

I know it's a little late in the game for this...but did you use Aviation sealant on your base gaskets?
That stuff basically makes base gasket leaks...obsolete.

Im sure they do. I dont really know what im even looking at. A lot different porting than a diesel head. Im sure everything is matched up very nice. Ill post up the head flow chart but got no clue what it means. Just trusting the expert here.

damn...I just noticed...are you doing all this off the floor without a lift?
My back would be killing me if I tried to do something like that again.
I'm guessing...Kirby did the heads also?

there is no question that Kirby does great work...so you should have one badass 124"er when you get it together.
Kirby did the bottom end of my 124 for me. He did a hell of a job on it!
Keep us posted...it's lookin good!

Im looking forward to having a few trouble free riding seasons. I have no idea what to expect riding wise. My no headwork 107 wasnt that impressive.

So I got all my parts gathered up and ready to install. Those valve covers I got for $40. Well I found a crack in them at the o-ring seat. I got my money back from the guy but now I'm on the hunt again.

If you need just the tops, I have some chrome ones, you pay the freight and they are yours.

Soft 02

Thanks but I really want the bottoms or a full set. Kirby had some a while back so I PM'd him. Stopped by HD on the way home and about had a heart attack.

I also have one chrome lower, I gave one away a couple years ago to a friend that messed one up while clearancing. Maybe someone has a single lower laying around, Just let me know.

Soft 02

Thanks. Yea if I could find 2 lowers I could get uppers any time. Got a friend with a MC shop and hes going to check tomorrow as well.

Man, you've got patience.  Seeing it all ready to go minus the covers I would have just about used duct tape .  Anyway I had several sets of covers, when finishing my build,  and took a beat up set I had and bead blasted and powdercoated them.  I used Eastwoods powdercoat setup and worked great and they looked great.  Left the lowers chromed and wrinkle coated the tops.  Have had several compliments.  Just an idea if you're near a powdercoater.  I had the same long life desires when I built my 124. Went with 10.2 to 1 compression and ended up with 134tq/129hp with the torque peaking at 3200. Very happy with my cruzing Fatboy now that the tuning bugs are worked out.

Soft 02

Got my AC cover made.

Wires and TB all hooked up.

Showing the modification to the DK backing plate.

ACR's hooked up.

Just saw the base gasket suggestion. Kirby sent the bottom with the cyl installed. Im sure he did what should have been done.
