15 radio comes on by itself on start

I have a 15 ultra that the radio comes on about half the time by itself on startup usually to weather. The manual says it should stay in whatever mode it was shut off in so if it was off it should still be off on start up. This certainly is no big deal just annoying. Anyone else have this?

I do believe there was a flash update to correct that common behavior.

Mine does that too !! Pisses me off, because it is freaking loud when it comes on. I have tried turning it off before I shut it down and then when I go restart it it come back on at the last volume setting. Let us know if the download fixes it. I thought I had the latest down load in it. I will have to look up what the latest is.

the latest download from HD website and the flash by the dealer tech are two different things.

Harley has issued about 5  or more software updates since 2014. Your weather station problem is addressed during one of these updates. You can download the latest version on Harleys website or you can have a dealer update it for you under warranty and they get paid 12 minutes to do it.

I think 19.1.1 is the latest version.

Where i work it seems like we spend half our time updating radios, doing recalls and explaining to people with security systems why their bike will not start.

One thing to check.... you may have weather alert enabled. If so, the CB constantly monitors the weather band for signals, & cuts in on whatever you are listen to at the time. It can be disabled in the menus.
